A 2G scratch disk can be conservative if you are working with large files for print. A good rule of thumb has always been to calculate about 5 x the file size you are working on for scratch disk space.

If you have thee 175MB files open at once or one 500MB file, you've blown the 2G ceiling. Also, consider that Illustrator may also use this scratch disk at the same time, if you so choose. If you do a lot of high end Graphic work, consider giving yourself a bit more wiggle room.
