Parallels & Windows have taken over my Mac!

I recently opened and edited a Word file in Parallels (with Office 2003) and now all files with a .doc extension seem to be associated with Word 2003 in Windows.

Now, whenever I try to double-click a Word file in the Finder, my Mac starts Parallels and opens Word 2003.

I tried to re-associate these files with Word 2004 for Mac by right-clicking, selecting the Mac version of Word and clicking "Always open with". But still, OSX seems to forget; it wants to open Parallels and Word 2003.

What else can I do?

Thanks in advance.

It turns out that is isn't really a problem with Parallels.

Although I clicked the option to "Always open with" Word 2004 Mac, it looks like going into the file info and selecting Word 2004 Mac in the "open with" field and clicking the "change all..." button ended up changing the behaviour.

Strange that two seeminly similar commands produce different results.

The first option is only for that specific file that you made the changes to, the second option is operating system wide. :)
