Got the Keyspan USB/Serial adaptor, which rocks (works with all Newton-related stuff).

Since I have no other printer other than my circa-1991 Stylewriter I (still have a working Mac Classic to got with it)...are there any OS X drivers for the Stylewriter? I'd love to be able to use it again, despite the expensive printer cartidges.

There no OS X drivers for any of the Style Writers from Apple, and serial isn't officially supported under Mac OS X.

Damn. Anyone build an "unofficial" one?

Nope. There are no drivers at all for any of these printers. If you need to use that printer, you're going to need to boot into Mac OS 9.

Honestly, get a nice new printer. They aren't that expensive... and 20x (official statistic!) better than a stylewriter I.

You deserve it!

Well.... the elves seem to be hard at work on your problem...

http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_printer.cgi?recnum=279593

..seems to indicate support for the Stylewriter I series in Gimp Print, which even has support for ImageWriters:

http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/imagewriter/

And... wow... this link (same site) actually generates the PPDs / LPDs / whatever you need:

http://www.linuxprinting.org/show_driver.cgi?driver=lpstyl

I haven't the time nor inclination to go through all this info to see if it will actually help you, but have a look.

ciao!
