One iPhone, Two Cell Lines - Not Possible

I just relocated to Montreal this week and wanted to add a second line to my wireless service (Rogers). I got all excited when I found out that Rogers does indeed support a "Second Voice Line Service", which provides the option to have two numbers on one cell phone. My plan is to keep my Toronto number and add a Montreal number.

Well, that excitement quickly turned to frustration when I discovered that the iPhone is not supported. In the event any of you want to read all about it, head on over to Rogers Wireless Business Second Voice Line Service

To potentially solve my issue, I came across a website/service called SecondVoice | One cell phone, two numbers.... However, i cannot seem to sign up from Canada. Am I missing something?

Another potential solution (i think) would be sign up for VOIP phone package and forward my calls to my mobile. I was thinking of using Acanac, seeing it's only $10/month for unlimited North American calling (I just signed up for their internet service as well).

Would perhaps Skype do the trick? Anyone using this service and their call forwarding features? It's seems like a low cost solution.

So I am reaching out to see if anyone here is in the same situation, found a workaround or can offer some insight.

Skype won't work as they cannot host Canadian phone numbers.

The VOIP solution you suggest is probably your best bet, it's the solution I am using, but I use Primus.

Just forwarding the call won't identify to you which are business callers vs. who just dialed your number directly. If that's not a big deal, any VoIP service will do. I used Unlimitel for a few years when I had my own Asterisk PBX and it was great and the rates very reasonable.

thanks for the replies and suggestions. ended up subscribing to Acanac's VOIP and softphone package. set up was pretty simple, just had to call forward one number to the other.
