The Omni Group has posted a preview version of OmniWeb 4.5. What's notable about this release is The Omni Group has replaced their own rendering engine with WebCore (the engine used in Safari), so it'll be interesting to see what sort of extra functionality (or different functionality) they'll use to differentiate themselves from Safari!

I wonder if it will actually be faster than Safari. I used OmniWeb for a few months, but I found that they could not improve their performance after a few releases.

I'd imagine OmniWeb and Safari will be roughly the same speed, since they're now using a lot of the same code (especially since the shared code is in the rendering engine, which can be a bottleneck for web browsers).

Of course, the only way to find out is to give it a try!
