One of my favorite free applications that I used to run on my old G4 dual 867 is called VLC media player. It's an app that lets you view almost any kind of media format on a mac. I used to watch all my dvd's with it instead of the Apple dvd player app becuase it has a nice slider that lets you move forward or backward in time with an instant click of the mouse to any point of a movie. No need for chapter clicking. When I loaded it onto my new G5 running OS 10.2.8 I get video playback but no audio. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this problem fixable or does it have to do with the G5 having some sort of new hardware built into it that is different than the old G4 architecture?

Anyone know anything about this?
