New redesigned iMac at WWDC?

I'm confused -- do you want a redeisgned iMac, or just a cheap close-out deal on the current ones?

A redesigned iMac so that I can score a used current model

I need the X1600 to play HD-DVD on Windoze, won't play on my MacBook.

Gah, I hope not. Call me old fashioned, but a touch-screen Mac wouldn't do it for me... it's really unappealing, depending on what options were touch-screen capable.

Didn't I read somewhere that a new screen backlighting was being developed for 2008. I would think that will be when a new iMac wil be introduced.

I'm guessing that the updated iMacs will have specs close to the new MacBook Pros with the Santa Rosa Chips, Wireless N, GeForce 8600M etc... and have slimmer, more streamlined enclosures.

An obvious geuss I suppose...

Sadly for those of us on a budget, if the rumors are correct, and Apple kills off the 17," then I won't be able to afford a new 20" with those specs. An educational 17" with a dedicated GPU would be very nice.

A used C2D with the X1600 for around $950 is what I'm seeking. A few months ago I bought an identical machine with the original CD CPU with Applecare for that price, but I passed it onto family.
