Got off the phone last night with a Carbon Computing guy, and he mentioned that they should get their new 15"s by Friday Oct 3rd... NICE :D . He mentioned that they had a new name too... the Brushed something... can't recall.

Anyone out here getting one?? I'm so in it's not funny. Heart?? Where you @??

I just need to find out what HDs are being installed in the units. They do a 80G 5400 - but it better be the Travelstar. Anyone know??

I just got mine last night. We (DPI) got a bunch on Wednesday. I am not sure what drive is in it. I haven't pulled one apart yet. I am having some problems though. All software related. When I upgraded to Filemaker Pro 6.0.4, I couldn't print. I downgraded to 6.0.3 and I'm back up. I can't launch iChat. It quits before it even launches.
Safari seems to have a problem as well. I can surf fine but if I want to type something in a search field, it quits. Happened with every site I have tried so far. Another guy in the office has the same problem with Sarfari on his too.
Hoping 10.2.8 will fix it once it is re-released.

So far I love it though. Haven't really beat it up yet but it feels much nicer than my TiBook did.

 [clenching heart]. Hmmm.. I wonder if they're on display anywhere.

Well, nonetheless, I look fwd to looking @ one @ least next week and making my decision from there. But I'm all in to make it happen.

D. Gary, would it not show in your Syst Profiler? This cat emailed me and mentioned that his 80G was a Fujitsu. Anyone here with some experience with their drives?? I think that Heart has/has one...

Good point! Duh!

Mine is a Fujitsu MHT2060AT.

I have sold quite a few Fujitsu drives lately. They seem okay. Not overly fast but I haven't had to send many back dead. Fujitsu annouced a while ago that they weren't going to make drives anymore so they are blowing inventory out cheap which is why Apple is using them most likely.

I don't have one on display yet but I use mine at work everyday. I'm here today from 10 - 4 if you want to have a peak at it.

Yeah... I just came back from Carbon. Their unit had a Fujitsu as well. Oh well... Any reports of ppl taking the 12" PB apart for after market HD install??

Nota Bene: the new 15" struck me as a bigger looking unit. than before. Not sure why. As is it would not fit in my lap bag. So slick though ...

Pulling a 12" apart is no fun! My service manager says they are the ugliest repair he has ever done. I'm not sure how far in you have to go to get the the HD but I do know it isn't a piece of cake.

The new 15 does feel bigger but I didn't find it to be a big adjustment. I really like it better.
