I have my new iPad Pro 12.9 inch on the way and just realized I'm going to need an adapter to connect. I've always connected my Lightning iPad Pro to my MBP USB connection. Is the following the adapter I need? That means the iPad Pro will connect to my Thunderbolt 2 (min display) port? And if so, it also means I will need a Thunderbolt 2 cable to connect, correct?

A little dumbfounded on this. I've always connected my iOS devices to my USB port on my MBP. Can my Mac talk to my iOS device through Thunderport 2 as well?

The iPad pro uses USB C, well I am pretty sure the latest does. My iPad Pro which is a few years old but the newer design uses USB C, Apple gives it their fancy thunderbolt name. I would think you could just buy a USB C to USB cable. I would give this or something like it a try

There are cheaper options on Amazon as well, saw some around the $5 mark.
