Are these numbers printed on the logicboard of the Macs? You can tell if the G4 one is a AGP-based by looking at the slots on the board. If there is a single slot that is shorter than the 3 others, and is a different shade of color, than it is a AGP-slot.

Tell him to go to the Apple System Profiler, under "Devices and Volumes." There, it clearly says whether it's a AGP G4 or not.
