My OSX user passsword has been changed

I need some help. I moved home from school a month ago and when I got home, my user account password did not work anymore. I have no clue how it got changed and honestly, at this point, I don't care. I would like to know how to change my password from what ever the heck it is to back to what it was. So, how can I do this? I assume I need to log in as root but past that, I don't know. Any help would be great!

To reset your password, you will need to boot from the install dvd/cd that came with your computer. Once booted up, choose Installer, then Reset Password and follow the instructions...

Well... if you can log in as root.. then you can erase your old account and create a new one. :)

I do the same on our Macs. Mine is worse than test - it's Troubleshoot ;)
