Hey both my mic and my mic jack on my g4 pwrbk don't work and it's getting annoying, I'd like to be able to use skype with my internal mic.

I haven't been able to find any threads on this so if you have any suggestions, or links to share I'll take them gladly.

It started after I installed leopard almost a year ago and i haven't been able to use it since.

What do you think, software, hardware issue?

You'll have to boot the unit from a known-good OS to rule out, or in, a software problem. Archive and Install Mac OS X and see what happens.

If you find out that your problem is a hardware issue that can't be repaired without replacing the logic board you can buy a USB webcam with integrated microphone to use with Skype or the USB Logitech headphone kit with microphone.

Don't work with Skype, or don't work at all? Have you checked the Skype audio preferences (Skype > Preferences > Audio) to make sure the audio input is set to the microphone you want to use?

Have you tried zapping the PRAM on your machine? I've seen issues like this solved by clearing the PRAM before ...
