Hi Friends
I received this email today, expecting to see an email address I recognised, and figuring that a friend's mail server was full or down.

But I never sent email to this address and now I wonder if my computer is being used as a SpamBot (or something). :(

Any ideas?

Thanks!

your laptop may not be used as a spambot. what happens from time to time is that your email address is being used by a spammer as the "sender". They do this to hide their own identity. This can also occur when you become infected with a virus; the virus sends out emails to others in your address book.

Ah, yes, the "spoofing" explanation makes sense, and even crossed my mind (briefly) when I was trying to figure out what this email meant.

This laptop is a Mac, so I knew at least I didn't have a virus  :)

Thanks, folks!
