Details:
iDVD v. 7
OS 10.5.8

Exported an iMovie project to DVD.....everything is fine.
Exported 2 slideshows from iPhoto to iDVD........when I either attempt to burn the DVD or create a file image, just before completion, I get an error:

'Error during muxing preparation (project conversion)"

And I am stopped on my tracks.

Anyone have a fix for this? On my old Macbook with OS 10.4, I had no problem including slideshows on a DVD with a movie.

Thanks in advance.

And here's the answer (have not confirmed yet)

ymptom
The following message appears when you try to burn a DVD:

"Multiplexer preparation error: Not enough free disk space for encoding the remaining assets."

Solution
Before burning your iDVD project, make sure there is at least 10 GB of hard disk space available on your Mac OS X startup volume. This will ensure that there is enough space for the elements of your iDVD project to be encoded into the DVD-Video format. It will also keep your hard disk from becoming completely full, which could degrade its performance.

Multiplex Erro

Okay, that's not it.

I just tried after saving to my T1 external drive which has tons of space.......same error.

I then freed up 30gig on my Powerbook........same error.

Hi,

I have freed up nearly 100g of space and still get the error.

Anyone know why my project size in iMovie 8 is 2.88 GB?

Every other project size is mere megabytes.....for some reason this project is massive and must be the reason why its causing me headaches with the multiplexing error.

I can't even export to Quicktime as it says it'll take 9 hours to do so!!!

The end result of all this was.........it was the chapters.

I could output the movie if I removed all the chapters.

The file size also shrunk by 4 gigs by simply shortening one of the titles so it wasn't the same length as the clip it appeared over.

Very frustrating.
