Mirror, but different resolutions?

I just picked up a 21.6" Samsung LCD to go with my Macbook. I'm trying to get the finder, etc to show up on the LCD, but Mirror is the only way I see to do this, yet then the resolution is limited to what the Macbook supports on it's LCD. Seriously?? There's no option to have different resolutions?

System Preferences-->Displays-->Arrangement-->Uncheck "Mirror Displays".
Yes ^ uncheck 'mirror' -- Then move the little 'menu bar' from the internal monitor to the external one.
That'll put the menus on the big monitor and not on the 'book screen

A Mirror by definition has to be the same resolution.
Oh wow, cool! Thanks guys... I had no idea I could move the menu bar like that. :)

Now I just need to get me a BT keyboard and mouse and I'll be all set!
