last night while trying to do a backup using Super Duper there was an error code saying one of the programs was not connecting and Super Duper wouldn't go any farther in it's backup. So I tried using TechTool to bring things around to normal on my hard drive. Now you have to realize this is the first time for me, both using SuperDuper and TechTool. When I tried to use my Mighty Mouse to hit options buttons in Tech Tool the mouse was frozen. I put in new batteries after closing down and restarting tried Tech Tool again same result frozen mouse. The nice part of this situation is I was finally able to finish the back up but I wonder is there something in Tech Tool that disconnects the mouse? Oh! my wireless keyboard continued to work throught the whole episode:confused:

As far as I know, aborting a backup shouldn't cause any problems on the computer's hard drive - it would likely cause problems on the external backup drive, though. I'd suggest re-formatting the external drive before trying another backup. As for the mouse, it sounds like a Bluetooth problem - maybe it would be a good idea to try using a normal wired mouse when backing up.
