I hate using the track pad on laptops, so I've decided to buy a mouse. Does anyone recommend a specific brand thats both moderately priced and efficient? I'm not willing to order online so the closest stores near me are The Source, Future Shop and Best Buy.
I have/I'am getting a MacBook Pro 13inch, so it would half to be compatible with it. I've looked around their sites but can't find anything to appealing. Any help will be great thanks.

Well I know you don't want to spend too much but...

Logitech® Performance Mouse MX™ ($120 )
MX™ 1100 Cordless Laser Mouse ($100)
MX™ Revolution (if you can still find one... they are discontinued)
VX Revolution™ (if you can still find one... they are discontinued)

Those would be my main Logitech recommendation. They all have Hyper Scrolling (as do other models) which to me, once you have used it you just can't go back. That being said, I have owned both the MX™ Revolution and the VX Revolution™ and gave them both up for the Magic Mouse as it has a form of Hyper Scrolling with the flick gesture.

I think compared to the upper end Logitechs the Magic Mouse is very good value. It takes a little bit of getting used to, but I love mine and wouldn't go back to the Logitechs now. I always found the clicking (especially when clicking and dragging) on the Logitechs to be a little unpredictable at times and you really had to hold the click very firmly or when dragging they would release prematurely dropping files and folders before you wanted, which can be a pain.

That being said you can do far worse the the Logitechs that I mentioned, but they are expensive. If you can try out a Magic Mouse before buying it I would recommend it because they aren't for everyone. But as I said I really love mine. Good luck.

I was looking at the Magic Mouse, do you think they have them at Best Buy? Since their an Apple Retailer. I know the source wont.

Okay scratch what I just said, I looked and yes they do. What about the Mighty Mouse. Its 20$ cheaper and corded which would save time of charges.

I would definitely recommend the Magic Mouse over the Mighty Mouse.
I found the Mighty Mouse's little track ball on the top will get collect dust/dirt over time and affect the opteration of the ball.

I luv the operation of the Magic Mouse and the ability to do gestures on it.
Very efficient.

I continue to like the Microsoft Optical Wheel Mouse. Cheap, decently built, no frills available almost everywhere. I don't want a lot of extra buttons - the Mighty Mouse with its side buttons drives me crazy. Give me left and right click and a scroll wheel and I'm happy.

I like the options of forward and back buttons. Ever since I had that on my Logitech G5, I find it very hard to use regular Microsoft mouses.

I tend to use OEM versions of these or logitechs, very very basic mice -- I'm the opposite of the OP and the same as CanadaRAM, I don't want forward and back buttons or anything aside from right click, left click and scroll wheel for the most part. You can typically get OEM (or more likely cheap knockoffs) of these from most any computer store for around $8-10 each.

Same here.
I had mice (or is it mouses) with extra buttons and never used them.

But in general, I think to buy any mouse you need to go to the store and see how it feels in your hand.
Hands are all different sizes, so are mice.
I know last time I went to staples where they had a long line up of them, there were only two or three that felt really comfortable.
I would never buy a mouse without having handled that particular model first.

I like a wired one because I tended to misplace the wireless ones and I also want one that oprates on any surface - but other than that - comfortable to use and two buttons plus scroll wheel is all I need.

I've got a magic mouse and as long as you install Magic Prefs it's pretty sweet. Battery life isn't as good as the mighty mouse though.

My favorite Logitech mouse is the MX Revolution and its big brother the Performance MX. They're very solid, ergonomic and are long lasting.
