Unless you are a landed immigrant ehMax..... if so, and you want to go after March 17th, you'll need a visa from the American consulate in Toronto. Will take about 8 weeks....... unless you have a British, Australian or New Zealand passport in which case you don't need a visa.
Crossing into the US by road has become a lot more variable as has crossing back. It can take as little as 2 minutes or as much as 4 hours depending on the phase of the moon. Travelling by air is somewhat easier unless you are from a Middle Eastern country when the advice from Ottawa is "don't go".
It's worth a trip to an Apple Store, especially with the exchange rate getting better (and not being reflected by Apple Canada) but don't expect too much. You *may* get to see a display model of a pre-production 17" powerbook though.....
