Posted over 13 hours ago and still no comments. Why? Because unlike virtually every other article on the Globe's site, comments on this one are fully moderated, i.e. posts are reviewed by a mod before being made public, rather than the usual freedom to post and be flagged by other readers if you offend or otherwise disrupt.

I'm guessing this story has a queue of hundreds of posts but the mod is having trouble finding any that don't sling personal insults at the author or otherwise violate the site's rules. In the past, Ms. McLaren has proven to be a lightning rod for complaints from people who deplore the dumbing down of the G&M. IMHO this week's McColumn is even more vapid than usual, so I don't envy the poor sod whose Saturday is devoted to vetting those comments.

As for her new relationship with Windows... I give it six months.

Thanks for contributing. My goodness you're a needy little poster aren't you.
I guess I am. I guess I like more than a link at the start of a thread, so that there is some context. You could have put a quote so that people at some idea what this thread is about. Here, something like this:

http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20070601.leah02/BNStory/lifeStyle/
There's iKaraoke for parties, iPhoto for family portraits, iWeb for the Internet, iTunes for music, iMovies for entertainment and iPods for light listening. All this comes complete with upgrades from the handy iLife package – mandatory software for any self-respecting hipster. Is that awesome, or what?

Problem is, iOverit. And I'm not the only one.

If some posters here annoy you (and you don't have to bother quoting them, or referring to what they actually write; perhaps they just annoy you), try reading Leah McLaren on a daily (or however often her column is posted) basis.

iCan't.
I think there is a little too much free range in that chicken.

Perhaps when she channels her role model, Carrie Bradshaw, she should realize that every show, no matter how good, gets cancelled.
