So, while leaving my computer for the night, the screen usually goes black in about 15 minutes or so. When I touch the track pad, it'll awaken, and spring back to life. This may be it's automatic sleep settings. How do I restore these settings? Thanks.

I did, and told it to make the screen go inactive, but nothing happened.

Can this take down the life of my Macs screen, if I leave it on for long periods of time?

I am in a similar boat. My Macbook display will not shutoff when I close the lid, nor will it go to sleep unless I select sleep from the Apple Menu and wait a few minutes. If I close the lid the beast stays on.

This only started happening after I got it back from Apple after they replaced the logic board. I'm convinced they didn't reattach a sensor.

Independent service centers are more thorough ;)
