How's the fan? I have the first gen MBP and sounds like my MBP is about to fly whenever I am doing something graphic or processor intensive.
It sounds like you may have a hardware issue. I'd contact Apple Support to at least register your problems should they persist/get worse. My understanding is that Apple has an unofficial 'three strikes' policy: if you have a problem that needs fixing three times they replace the machine. The better half of my screen has this annoying yellow tint and i have done so much work I don't want to return it.
...
Honestly for a 2500$ laptop , Apple needs a wee bit more quality control.
I have one of these and I don't hear the fan at all. Maybe I'm not pushing it hard enough? How's the fan? I have the first gen MBP and sounds like my MBP is about to fly whenever I am doing something graphic or processor intensive.
I have the Core Duo, I saw that you have the Core2Duo. I don't know if you have a Core Duo as well but it always happen when; I have parallels turned on with win xp, bootcamp (win xp booted up), playing a game, etc...I have one of these and I don't hear the fan at all. Also, it does get hot, but the Dell that I had before was 1/3 the speed and WAY hotter.

Good luck with it. Let us know how it turns out.

Yeah, I definitely agree with that assessment. Sounds like some real whacko issues there. It sounds like you may have a hardware issue. I'd contact Apple Support to at least register your problems should they persist/get worse.

To be fair ... Internet Explorer Issues in Windows are not really a problem that Apple should have QC'd on this model of MBP. That's a Microsoft or Parallels problem.Complaints:
Internet explorer in windows doesn't work correctly , I don't know why but it just will not show websites. While other internet use works fine ( HL2 ETC)

FYI: The first one fixes some sort of display issue. Also, they're likely tossing this on at the factory. My MBP came with it installed. The second one however popped up in Software Update when I set up my MBP. It fixes unspecified "bugs."To be fair ... That being said, have you installed all of the updates? There are at least two MBP SR firmware updates that Apple released in the last two weeks:
Apple - Support - Downloads - MacBook Pro EFI Firmware Update 1.3
Apple - Support - Downloads - MacBook Pro Software Update 1.0
Would either of those fix your problem? That's also what Apple will ask you first if/when you call them.
Sorry to hear about your issues. I must be lucky as I don't seem to have these issues (in fact, WiFi is better on my MBP than it was on ANY of my PC laptops). Of course I've just jinxed myself by saying that. Some of the Santa Rosa MBPs are prone to well-documented wi-fi problems (unfortunately, I have my own AppleCare ticket for this matter... heading off the the Apple Store tomorrow morning for the "next step"), so I would definitely call Apple support about this.
Check out the Apple support forum for the MBP and search for the term AirPort. There were a number of active threads last time I checked.Sorry to hear about your issues. Got any links on this issue?
Hmmm. I've used it on WiFi on battery a bunch of times and haven't had an issue. I'm going to try it now and see if something "bad" happens. One thing to note is that I looked at the postings on Apple's discussion board and I have the same config in my MBP as the people who seem to have no issues. Hopefully that explains why I've had no issues.Check out the Apple support forum for the MBP and search for the term AirPort. There were a number of active threads last time I checked.
I just got back from the Apple Store, where the genius simply trashed my AirPort preferences. Not sure why the AppleCare guy didn't think to do that, but whatever... So far my network connection seems much more stable, though the signal strength remains pretty poor. I'm crossing my fingers that my issues have been solved.
