I presume many on our board are familiar with this dot-net website. Unfortunately, sometime in the past year, MacOS' new security 'features' make d/ling its content impossible.

Doesn't work on 10.13 or 10.12. i'm hoping someone here is running an OS older than these to see if they can get any successful d/l.

I've been using M-T-D for a really long time to keep all my third party software updated.

TIA!

I will, indeed PM you but it's a complete joy to scroll through mac-torrent-download and discover all those appls you didn't know about and, of course, don't need.

Frankly, I'm not a high-security kind of guy. Apple has gone overboard. As I understand it, one needs an old MacOS with all security features turned off.

That would work fine for me!

Thx.

Not urgent for me

codeup, thx for your PMs. No, I have not yet tested it.

For polywog & others, codeup is trying to make some money from Nitroflare. Anybody think that's a security issue?

What I need is someone who's running 10.11 back to test m-torrent-download & see if downloads work. Then I'll set up an old Mac to do so. TIA!

I'm just a little bit curious here, and no I don't use the software, but how would they "make money from Nitroflare"???

I didn't see anything like that mentioned at his guide site:
How to Download from Nitroflare – Simple Guide

But I will admit that just two posts from a brand-new member are little bit on the thin side.... :D

According to their site, they say:
Remember, when you download a torrent for Mac computers using Vuze, it not only plays on a MacBook or iMac, it runs on portable devices. Those of you who utilize Apple TV will also be able to share files and playback downloads with Vuze. Vuze is a great way to download torrents on a Mac, share files with friends or the bittorrent community, and play, read, or view any file you've just completed.
No mention of Catalina preventing or messing up or goofing up anything.

Nope, not at all. I cannot download torrents from mac-torrent-download using 10.13 or 10.12, even with all security turned off. I'm looking for someone running a system older than these to tell me the secret to making the site usable and its torrents accessible.

If you mean this site:
www dot torrentmac dot net

I would say you are well protected and a good place to avoid!!

I was able to download CleanMyMac X 4.6.11 and then Image Resizer 2.1 that both resulted with a .dmg download and when opened and expanded, produced an identical version and size application called Player. In between, it downloaded a phony Flash player installer i was able to avoid.

I have come across this Player application before and it sure acts like a nasty piece of goods and not a normal application.

It gets installed into the bowels of the OS into the .var etc folders area and was a real PITA to remove.

I am using a 2011 27-inch iMac running Mavericks 10.9.5.

I have no idea why you would be interested in accessing or downloading from such a site. I would suggest it should be avoided at all costs. Nothing seems to be legitimate or normal.

If you mean another different torrent site, then provide the proper accurate URL address.

Basically ad-revenue + push notifications + Premium...

Everytime that a user visit a NitroFlare link the uploader will make money with ad-revenue and with push notifications. If the download is slow and is large a user can buy premium, this way a uploader will make around $5 to $8 per purchase.

Very informative article...

Nitroflare is not really germane to my issue. I clean-installed 10.12.6 & turned off all the security I could, including Java. Still can't use mac-torrent-download.

Ok, let's fix this...

1 - Install Brave Browser for mac - https://brave.com/download/
( Has a torrent manager inbuild )

2 - Download Hacxx Anonymous Torrent Search - NitroFlare - Upload Files

3 - Open the html file and perform a search for what you are looking for

4 - In the results page, click in the blue link. If you are having problems while accessing click on the gold link "Proxify page" and this will forward that page to a proxy. In the proxy press "Reload http://...." link to open the page.

Note: When visiting pages using the proxy be sure to click in magnet:// links and not on .torrent files

This does not work for me, either. Believe me, I've already tried every weird browser. I don't need to search anything. I need to get to mac-torrent-download and be able to download its torrents. The problem is rooted in either OS security or browser security settings. Privacy-friendly browsers such as Brave & Opera are equally incapable.

What I need is somebody smarter than I on this forum to go to mac-torrent-download and give it a go.

TIA!

If you have Brave installed try Apple + Shift + N and type the url
(Apple + Shift + N will open a privacy protected window)

or try the link below
huntbits.com Glype® proxy

Note: I'm a computer expert and after testing it doesn't download. It seems that the problem is with the site. Give me the name of what are you looking for and i will see if i can get somewhere else.
