Hi,

We've got a couple of Xserves here at work that we're using as rack-mountable Power Macs (i.e., they're not actually servers), and I'm wondering if it's possible to install Mac OS X on them rather than Mac OS X Server. Any ideas?

Personally, I don't see why not, although the Server versions are usually a little better then the Normal versions. (Stability is usually higher, and extra features are more accesible, especially ones to do with hosting a server. eg. Journaling in Jaguar.)

Sure you can. Server is nothing but client with some extra services and changes to the UI. The kernel is the same as is the BSD and such.

Go ahead, you'll be fine.
