Mac RAM Direct - Discount Premium Certified Apple iMac PowerBook iBook PowerMac RAM Memory Sales

My friend shared with me his positive experience with these guys buying 2 GB for his MBP.

Figured I'd share this with all of you.

Unfortunately, shipping to Canada using UPS or DHL is rather expensive especially there brokerage fees.

Cheers
Sorry, their, not there
With the strong dollar, it can be worth while. Especially when you compare their Mac Pro RAM to Apple's prices.
A 1gig piece "certified" for an MBP at CanadaRam for $59 Cdn, ($79Cdn for Kingston).

Same piece from your MacRam Direct link is "on Special" at $78.66US regular price $125.66US.

So where's the "good deal"??????????

CanadaRAM is a well-regarded neighbour here in ehMacland. 'Nuff said..

EDIT: prices for both places taken at 0600 today, other than currently in process of buying from them I have no financial connection with CanadaRAM. (replacing 2g "certified" RAM that has lead to endless heartache in the form of random restarts acquired from a US discount firm - random restarts do not occur with the stock Apple RAM in place)
Um, I didn't check out every single RAM offering. But you're a big boy now and can decide if its worth your time and money.

For me, it is. I have a Mac Pro, so let's compare:

CanadaRAM:

4096Mb kit (2x2Gb matched pair) for $433 (their cheapest offering is $399)

MacRamDirect:

Same Ram and 4GB kit (2x2GB matched pair) goes for $329.92
Take the US price

+ Shipping
estimate US$16-$24 for uninsured USPS Global Express
or estimate US$14 - $18 for UPS Ground or US$45 for DHL air
+ Customs brokerage
estimate CAN$5 for USPS shipment
or estimate $30 - $40 for UPS Ground
+ GST and provincial tax
+ extra 2.5% your charge card will charge as commission for the US exchange

+ You get to pay shipping and clearing again if there are any warranty issues.

Exchange brings that to 350.84 before shipping, brokerage , etc., etc.. You are a "big boy" ;) - do the math. Savings, if any, will be trivial.
I agree
i just paid UPS Brokerage fee, without customs, of $30 on an article costing $71
