Leaks from rumour sites are one thing

But I would hate to have been in Steves office today when this was announced.
Senior VP's are supposed to know enough to keep their yaps shut .

The "ice" on the phone lines from Cupertino to Sun today would be enough to prevent global warming for at least 20 years

Good thing for Leopard ?... yes but Sun should really know better than to make this kind of prior announcement that really does them no good .

IMHO of course LOL

The big question is going to be how Apple will handle the resource fork stuff that HFS/HFS+ and OSX uses. If they handle it the same way they did with UFS OSX will still be fairly crippled when it comes to a lot of the stock GNU/command line tools (it will require modified versions of the tools and hacks to get things in line). Only time will tell.

dansgil - More than likely the only way to read a ZFS drive in an older operating system will be to use MacFUSE.

That said, personally I'm a bit of a fan of ZFS, and think that it along with DTrace are both excellent utilities to port to OS X from Solaris.

A bit more pointful explanation as to why ZFS is cool: Why do geeks have lust for ZFS? at zamwi.com
