La Cie Hard drive

I've got a la Cie Porsche hard drive and the hard drive is finished. I've toyed with the idea of replacing the hard drive. Any ideas on how to open the enclosure without damaging it. (There are no visible screws to unscrew.)

Consider before you do -- the enclosure may not have enough power to handle a larger drive, depending on the age and the model.

It's just a press fit. You can pry the bottom off using something thin (like a kitcken knife).

You might want to consider getting a new enclosure like this one. It's USB & Firewire, supports drives up to 1000GB, has a automatic standby. I've used a couple of them with Seagates drives and they work great and run cool too.

Canada Computers - Drive Enclosure : Mediasonic HD6-U2FW - Smart Drive 3.5" USB 2.0 & Firewire (IEEE 1394a) HDD External Enclosure.
Thanks for the input CanadaRAM and Z06jerry. All things considered, I guess it would probably be better just to buy a new HD or make my own using a new enclosure.
