Continuous slideshow help

Hey people,

I'm in a little bit of a pickle here, at work we use a program called avelin composer on our parallels desktop to put slideshows up onto plasmas, however this program is ancient, sucks and it needs to go.

We'd use keynote but the problem is you cant really decide when exactly when you want a slide to post and how long for....

does anyone know if there is a plugin that allows keynote to do this?

Thanks in advance for any answers!

Regards,
Andy

Hmm. You could achieve this with the shareware program PhotoPresenter, but it won't give you Keynote's transitions, etc. You *could* create the slides in Keynote, export as images, import 'em into PhotoPresenter - but as static images (with cool transitions, timed, etc., but again - no on-slide effects).

That said, Keynote does have fairly decent timing controls - if you know exactly how long you need to keep a particular slide up, you can program it to auto-run using delays, transition lengths, etc.
don't mean to hijack your thread, but since this is a keynote question, i don't want to start another topic....... can the apple remote that comes with the macbook work with keynote? ie: I can stand away from the computer while giving my presentation and use the remote to move the slides?
tacsniper: Absolutely! Out of the box - no setup required.

AND if you are using "presenter mode" (see preferences), you can press MENU on the remote to scroll through all of your slides, pick one, press PLAY and jump to that slide - useful if you need to skip some slides, or jump back to a particular one during your Q&A. :D

now thats cool! now my presentations in sku will looks unique compare to all the other Powerpoint slides out there! The remote just makes it that much more professional =D
Mark: thanks for the reply ill look into the photopresenter later today. I feel like i didnt make it 100% clear what i need. We use these slideshows to project things on our plasmas around our buildings. So by timing i mean the frequency of a slide appearing in an endless slideshow, and on what day it stops displaying altogether (buf the slideshow keeps going)...
Ah - yeah, that's quite a bit different than what I had in mind. Sounds like you need something more in line of a scriptable database thingy. (by "thingy" I am expressly revealing my complete and utter lack of knowledge on this particular topic). :)

You may wish to start another thread with a title that does not reference Keynote.
What should I title it? heh... I really don't know what to reference that to... cause I mean in the end it *is* a slideshow.

Andy
:) Well - I think we've established that Keynote isn't the solution... so, "Keynote Help" misidentifies your problem. How 'bout "Advanced slide presentation software?"
A new version of PhotoPresenter is now available, but it doesn't have the advanced display options you are looking for.

If and when you find something that does the job, please share your discovery.
