This is an older John Dvorak column I came across, but I found the irony pretty funny:

What I find funny about this is that Dvorak estimates that there are 24.5 million XP crashes, every day. That number also happens to be the total estimated number of Macintosh computers users. Just imagine how well Microsoft's crash rating would improve if all those crashing XP users "switched"? :D

I think Dvorak's numbers for Windows are a bit pessimistic. Most people I know that use Windows XP rarely, if ever, suffer from system crashes; I can't remember the last time I got a BSOD from Windows, in fact.

I wonder if Dvorak's talking about application crashes rather than system crashes? I see an application crash at least once every few days (on both Mac OS X and Windows).

True. I'm sure they are app crashes. And, I experience one on my Mac once in a while too.
