It may be a stupid question, but I don't know well all the new software that came on my new iBook.

Here's my question : if I download a mp3 encoded song, do I need to put the file in a uncompressed format before I burn it on a CD, considering my CD player cannot read mp3 file? In that case, how can I do that in iTunes?

Regards,

In iTunes, go to your preferences before you start burning. Select "Audio Cd" as the format for the burning. The program will convert it to the appropriate format.

Also, when you import music from CDs, you can choose to import them as MP3s , AIF, Wav, or AAC. If your intention is to later burn a mixed CD in standard audio format, then import your songs as AIF.

akaMarko has it nearly 110% right, iTunes will automatically convert between formats if need be. So, you can burn your MP3s onto an Audio CD, you just have to choose the CD type (Audio or Mp3) in the preferences before you burn.
