In the past week, my iPod power button has completely stopped working. The only way for it to shut off is just to let it shut off on it's own. It's not dirty, as it's been in a thick rubber protector case since I got it about a year ago, nor has it been dropped (that I know of, my 9 year old daughter borrows it sometimes). Any ideas? It's frustrating!!

Um...if it's not working, how are you turning it on? I'm assuming here that it simply won't turn off - which is not an issue with the power button per se.

You probably need to reset the iPod:

How I'm turning it on

It goes to sleep on it's own. To turn it back on, I'm pressing the "home" button (the little square button at the bottom). I cannot shut it off, nor can I shut it down by holding the button at the very top.

It is an iPod touch, a previous generation. I don't have a mic or a camera, if that helps. I've found that if I slide my finger across the power button with pressure, instead of clicking right on it, it works 50% of the time. But that's annoying.
