My iPod nano (about 2 yrs. old) was cutting in and out after playing it for about 1/2 hr.
Researching on the forums, the problem pointed to the battery...Uggh, like $80 minimum
to replace the battery.
I kept reading and someone suggested to completely power it down , leave it, then power back up. No luck, still cutting in and out.
Another suggestion was to do a total restore, which I did and I'm happy to report it's all fixed up now...hurrah!
I'm sure most of you know this fix, but if you don't this could save you buying a new iPod or a new battery.
