Could someone help me here? I am upgrading my in-laws iMac to Tiger and I need to know where I might put their iPhoto Library I copied over (onto several CD's) when upgrading to iPhoto 05 in Tiger? Thanks.

I find the easiest way is to open iPhoto and create an album, click on it (at this point it should be empty), then open the cd and Command-A and drag them all into the album of choice iPhoto should do the work for you.

The upgrade should happen automatically when you open iP5 for the first time

I did a clean install. Then I installed iLife 05. I dragged the iPhot Libraary over, but it won;t allow me to copy the "aliases". Thus far, nothing can be transferred over to iPhoto 5 from iPhoto 2. Any other ideas? I believe I copied everything onto CD's (including the .plist).

Hmm each tried I upgraded it did the conversion automatically. Try something else: go to prefs and point to the old library folder/file. It should say something like iPhoto must convert this library". Fingers crossed.

I am wondering how this has worked out for you.

I am reviewing ehMac threads looking for guidance already posted about iPhoto.

Thank you for starting this thread.
