Does the phone come with it's own plastic screen cover from new? Mine looks like it has one which is lifting from the bottom corners..I don't know if I should remove or leave or remove and add my own but it sure looks like it has a film...

Yes it does, but it's pretty obvious. Isn't your earpiece volume really quiet? the factory screen blocks the hole.
