Does the phone come with it's own plastic screen cover from new? Mine looks like it has one which is lifting from the bottom corners..I don't know if I should remove or leave or remove and add my own but it sure looks like it has a film...

Yes it does, but it's pretty obvious. Isn't your earpiece volume really quiet? the factory screen blocks the hole.

No this is cut exactly to the outline of the touchpad...I don't want to remove it (even if it will come off) as it may "not" be removable.

Brand new out of the box it does have a plastic film, with a tab on the bottom of it to make it easy to peel off.

Did you open yours brand new from the packaging, or did you buy it unlocked? If you bought it unlocked, the person you bought it from might have cut the tab off.

If you see bubbling, it's obviously the plastic wrap and you should remove it.

I did remove the original protective film but theres another as I say cut exactly to the glass face.I can lift it as a peel with an exacto blade and probably remove it but why...if it acts as a source of protection without being obtrusive why not leave it ? Aint the faces glass ? This is a plastic.Just wondering if it was meant to be removed...

Sorry, I'm still not following you.
The iPhone OUT OF THE BOX has 1 plastic layer, with a tab.

So I have no idea what you're referring to. As you didn't say whether or not you yourself opened this box from a brand new state, I have no idea if someone applied a screen protector.

How about posting a pic?

you guys are talking about the same film.

I did the same. The film that had the tab on it--- I left it on and what I did was just cut off the tab with an exacto knife. Soon, it started peeling at the bottom so I cut it right around the edge of the screen. It looked pretty stupid so I just peeled it all off.

Now, I have a nekked iPhone with a few dings here and there :(... but I just ordered a Contour Showcase before anything really bad happens

Check out the invisibleSHIELD I have one ordered for my nano. They make them for the iphone and a bunch of other electronics.
This cover is great! I have it on my nano and my blackberry pearl. It is nice not having to worry about scratches and you can barely see the plastic cover when it is on.

I will be buying this stuff for any portable electronics in the future and putting it on right after the new toy comes out of the box.

I am not about to knock anyone sensible enough to buy an InvisibleSHIELD, but I will say that I've owned an iPhone since day one, and after being in my pocket and all around the states it still looks EXACTLY like it did the day I bought it. This little guy is tough.
