Encouraging!

Although Rogers must do something about their ridiculously high data rates...

well 10bucks for unlimitted text messages is better then the at&t iPhone plan..its like 20...

but does not having the iPhone make you want to kill yourself?
Are you saying rogers has iphone working already. I have been looking all over is a unlocked phone would work in canada. Sim card issue as rogers will not work on iphone

Text messaging is not so much the issue. It's the mobile internet rates they charge--that's what I'm referring to by data rates...

Constantly worrying about how much data you've downloaded and what your bill will be would ruin the experience of the iPhone, in my opinion...

That's why there's built in wifi. I wouldn't get a data plan even if it was like AT&T's. Will only surf at home or in hotspots. I don't even have a data plan for my Blackberry and it nowhere compares to the iPhone as far as features and software.
The iPhone is not working in Canada. I commented on the earlier post with a similar title.

It is, from what we know, working to some extent by the call center. For all we know, Apple may have installed specific hardware (servers, signal broadcast), or are possibly using a modifed OS on the iPhone to emulate it working on Rogers as it does on AT&T.

I recommend that no more titles of this nature be used, until a consumer iPhone is running on Rogers. It's misleading. :)
Thread title on this and the other one should have been edited. Mods?
Actually, I strongly suspect that the other thread about iPhones working in Canadian Apple call centres has nothing to do with Rogers at all.

The iPhones in the call centres are just roaming on the Rogers network, and in fact this is the likely reason that call centre employees have been told not to use them to make calls (at $0.59-0.79/minute for roaming).

Take any Rogers phone with you to the U.S. and it will say "AT&T" or "Cingular" depending on where you are, and in fact I know somebody who went to Mexico with their AT&T iPhone and had "movistar" (a Mexican cell carrier) show up on their iPhone display.
