iPhone Apps Thread

Just thought I'd start a thread where we can talk about different apps that we like, troubleshoot and the whole deal.

I know springboard is a common application, I installed it but can't seem to get it to work, should your icons be able to scroll down automatically?

You should be able to scroll down if you have more icons than can fit on the home screen. If you think the install was faulty, uninstall and reinstall. Springboard goes very well with rSBT (for rearranging icons (order and number) on the home screen and on the dock.)

One App, I really think will work well for me is the ebook reader (Books). I can catch up on my scifi books!

Cheers.

What apps is it that lets you get rid of the random icons (like stocks) that you dont want?

and where's a good place to dl ebooks these days?
springboard+rSBT. All you have to do is open rSBT and drag the icon all the way to the bottom under "hidden".

I bought the ebooks a long time ago for 99c each or close to that. There are free ebooks sites such as this one.

Cheers
Springboard+rSBT are those through installer.app or something different? Currently using Summerboard which just lets you scroll and change background wallpaper..

Opps! I meant Summerboard. Springboard is the iphone's home screen. rSBT let's you rearrange the order of icons on springboard.
I like "vNotes" (voice notes) which lets you record voice notes to yourself. This has always been one of my favourite features on my cellphones, and I was pretty shocked to find there was no such built in App.

With vNotes, after you record you can even email the note to someone if you'd like.
I wonder if these apps will be compatible with iPod Touch...
Well, it is the same hardware and OS so I'd have to guess that most Apps will port to the Touch.
Also, and I was hoping for this, Colloquy has a demo of their IRC client specifically for the iPhone. :)

the range of apps they have is just amazing!

Anyone know how to change the city for the weather app? Also whast the current deal with youtube, can it only be used on the edge network or can you set it up so it works via WiFi
now that the iPod Touch is officially available, I'm wondering when we'll get an iPhone update. I'd love the wifi music store on my iPhone.

Just click the "I" in the lower right corner for options. You can add more cities there too. I have Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
Fen: Do all of your cities have a weather icon? I have three cities in mine and only one of them has a Sun/Moon/Rain icon (depending on the weather) but the other ones don't have anything.
ahh my large fingers were having trouble hitting the i button, haha

Montreal & Vancouver don't, but I just added New York and it does display the top icon. Hmmm.
So after playing around I have a few questions maybe some of you can answer since they all involve pretty standard applications.

- does youtube and the e-mail option only work with EDGE? Can I use the app on wi-fi?

- is there a good wi-fi MSN solution?

- and is there a way to disable the auto-complete typing, it gets pretty annoying from time to time.

- once i add the NES emulator, where do I upload the ROMs?

- youtube and email work with wifi and edge perfectly
- There is currently no native wifi msn solution, the best alternative is iphone.beejive.com but you have to use it through safari
- there is an app called kb under apptapp installer that allows u to disable the auto completion thing.
- download the nes roms and put them under /var/root/Media/ROMs/NES using ssh or sftp or something like that.

thanks! i've been at work all day and i'm itching to get home and do more mods/play around with it!!
I came across this today. Tap Tap Revolution for the iPhone. I'm a sucker for rhythm games, so I can't wait to try this. :)
