where are the stupid dancing silhouettes?
Revolutionary not evolutionary...

A demonstration of simplicity and an approach that will enable the watcher to say...
I want to do that
The music is annoying...

Otherwise, good ads, but not great. I think Calamari does the best to present how amazing the iPhone really is. Find the closest place and call (or presumably email or visit their site) so easily? Awesome...
Nicely done - and I agree, Calamari is the best of the three!

I think we're jaded.

I think to the average person not quite familiar with the iPhone, these ads and the iPhone interface will blow people away.

I think the iPhone is going to be an out of the park, grand-slam for Apple.

I have never wanted an Apple product as bad as I want the iPhone. :)
Hmm... :) Wonder if they'll make a Product RED version? :D

Mmmm. iPhone made of Calamari.

What? Oh wait. I don't think that was the point of the ad. ;)
Too bad there's no word on the Canadian release.

So will Apple bring out a superhigh-spec version and call it the Squid Pro Quo?
Who is the audience?

I second this notion.

As to whether the commercials are effective, or 'we' like them… does it really matter? Apple didn't make the commercials for the likes of us. Most of us, were interested long before that commercial was every story-boarded. Let's be honest, most of us were thinking I want one, as soon as Steven said, "Apple's new product" …before we knew what it was.

These commercials are going to hit hard in the hearts of those that think the iPod isn't a neat gadget - that it's just a glorified walkman. Those that aren't necessarily tied to their computer if they even have one. Those that are on the go, but aren't 'gadget Gretzky's'. The commercial shows how simple it is to do those things that others on the subway car next to you do that look fun, but are kind of scary to learn how to use. Simple. Easy. That's where it will be a home run. Because these commercials dial right into those hearts and minds.

We all here want one…
but it ain't cuz the commercial.

just like everything else in Canada....we won't have the iPhone for another five years, but the good news is that we will be getting it right after (within days) of getting movies and tv shows....can't wait:lmao:
I thought the commercials were excellent and they should make OSX commercials just like them. Simple, elegant and desirable the commercials show how simple and elegant Apple products are and that they are easy to use. They would also would display the power and advantage of using them over what else is out there "cough cough" microsoft and motorola come to mind....
I think we'll see an iPhone in Canada sooner than people think. ;)

Yes, I want one and I think those who see the commercials will want one too.

And what makes you think that we'll see an iPhone for sale, by Rogers, sooner than we think?

I'm now thinking end of this year at the very earliest, probably this time next year when version 2 comes out. I'm basing that on the various discussions I've had with people in the industry, and what I've read online.

September.
Good one, SQ!
A recent talk with a Rogers lackey has me thinking sooner than later. He told me Rogers is gearing up to sell the things. Apple and Rogers are still in negotiations but the guy told me the rumour around Rogers is a late summer release. This worker wants an iPhone too.

As a matter of fact I didn't raise the subject. I was setting up a new account that will include all Rogers services. He asked me if I knew about the iPhone and when I said of course he asked if I will want iPhone service. I said it depends on the cost of the services but yes, I want one.
