Hey guys
so my 3gs got wet, and it wouldnt turn on.
so first thing i did was buy a battery.
it turned on and worked, until the battery died, my dock will not charge or be reconized by my computer.
so battery died, phone wont turn on.
ordered a new dock for the 3gs, put it in and of course still no charging.

is my board fried?
did i get a DOA part?
if the board was "fried" why was i able to turn it on and use it like an iphone?
any help will be great as i wouldnt mind fixing this and feeling right nice about it

Uh, what do you mean you bought a battery? The unit is sealed.

How wet did it get? More than likely the water shorted out the charging system, killing the battery and the charging circuitry. The other possibility is that when you replaced the battery, you didn't attach everything properly when putting it back together. Unless the dock got wet, why would you bother to replace that? Unfortunately there is not a lot that you can do at this point besides taking it to a professional.
