I signed out of icloud on my imac (2011 high sierra) as it was not syncing with my iphone and ipad. But I cannot sign in now, I can sign in ok through a browser, but not through system preferences.

I have tried most of the usual things such as restating the computer, and clearing caches; but no luck.

Any ideas.

Hm. I have had persistent problems with iCloud. But they seem unrelated to Safari 10.1.2, my browser of choice. In any case, I followed the advice & installed the certificate. Think it can't really hurt anything.
