Conservative candidates who participated in financial transfers richly rewarded

Five unsuccessful Conservative candidates whose campaigns participated in a contentious party program to shift around more than $1 million in advertising money during the 2006 election later received either ministerial-level jobs or a government patronage post, including positions with Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day and Environment Minister John Baird.

One former candidate said Friday his campaign was unwillingly dragged into the scheme.

Jean Landry, a former Bloc Quebecois MP who placed second as a Tory candidate in Richmond-Arthabaska, said when Elections Canada challenged his financial statements he asked the party for bills proving the $26,000 his campaign paid the party for advertising expenses were incurred on his behalf.

"Directors of the Conservative Party called me to tell me not to talk to Elections Canada again because there were others dealing with the problem," said Landry, who added that Elections Canada investigators grilled him for three hours earlier this summer.

Landry says he will have nothing more to do with the Conservative Party.

So is this constant response. Fact is this is a good story no matter who posted it. John Landry's take on this is particularly interesting.
Smells more like bacon, with eggs, sausage, ham, hashed potatoes, and toast and jam, part of your complete Conservative breakfast.
I guess they key difference is we're talking about Tories spending money donated by Tory supporters, as opposed to money taken by Liberals for the Liberal Party, ala the Sponsorship Scandal.

Quick call Gomery, NBiBooker has proof of wrongdoing by Liberals....

(And let's forget that the Connies keep on circumventing the law, unlike the other parties that seem to follow the rules).
Um, AS, how much proof do you need? Or, like ole Jean, do you need to first define what is proof? (Proof is proof because it's proven, Chretien once said).

Buddo, you can be as partisan as your heart desires, but don't feed me bull droppings and call it chocolate.

actually;

A proof is a proof. What kind of a proof? It's a proof. A proof is a proof. And when you have a good proof, it's because it's proven.
now, that's a keeper

Welcome back! Obviously you've just come back to Canada after 15 years abroad.
I thank AS for his valuable service of scanning the internet to bring us news stories ONLY about perceived Conservative wrongdoings.

When this guy goes to sleep holding his little red blanket, I guess his favourite party hasn't suffered a horrible, stinging defeat and the world unfolds like a Pepsi commercial.

You are totally ****ed in the head MF.
I've written many times that I'm a BQ supporter yet you prefer to project all the time.

Here a novel idea for you - instead of being the annoying dog dry-humping my leg, why not add something to the debate instead of the twaddle you post.
Didn't the BQ suffer a horrible, stinging defeat AS? Someone's a little touchy about another unnamed party I suspect.
Ah, I miss the immortal Gerry MacNutt to add his grist to the mill of all things Conservative. Where are ye Gerry, we miss ye dearly.
Well it's happened, someone to add to the ignore list.Such will be the fate of any BQ supporter. :ptptptptp
