i'm using a G4, working on photoshop 6, trying to print a grayscale image in halftone on an epson stylus 880 printer.
something seems to be overriding the settings i put in the printer control panel and i can't get halftone....
does anyone have any suggestions?

I use an Epson 740, so I'm not sure if the dialogue boxes are the same. With mine, the initial window that comes up when printing has a "Custom" check box, which when selected, allows you to then select the "Advanced" button. The window that opens has a halftone options drop menu. "Fine dithering" is the most common setting and from there, the quality of print you select will give you the fineness of colour and halftoning you need. See if this works

I should have mentioned that if this works, then you should go to "Page Setup" (Apple Menu) while Photoshop is open and change the print default settings to match up with what worked.
