Please help me!
I have bought a camera which is JVC Everio with 30gb hard drive ,how can Iconvert MOD Files on my Mac so I can import MOD videos into imovie for further editing?

I would use mpeg streamclip (google) and if that can't open the file change the extension from .mod to .mpg then use mpeg streamclip to convert the file to NTSC DV.

Yes,just as John said.
You should convert MOD files to the formats that can be discerned by iMovie,such as MPEG,and I also found a cool guide from Apple's Official Website about "Import MOD files into iMovie" :
Connect the camera and then launch iMovie 7 or above. It will "see" your camera and offer to import the file.
Visit the video demo from Apple to know how to use it.

Tips:
iMovie supports limited formats, such as 3GP, AVI, DAT, MOV, MP4 and MPG, if you have other video formats, you can use video converter for mac to convert videos to these formats, then import to iMovie.
Visit the guide of Convert MOD on Mac or import MOD into iMovie.
