Analyst: Apple worth to surpass IBM, Intel
"Next in sight for Apple is Intel and IBM, whose market caps are $145 billion and $161 billion respectively. I believe Apple will pass up both companies within the next 18 months."

got to love the speculation, but it's a wonderful thought nonetheless
Wow. Bigger than IBM (in market cap)... I suppose Apple will start throwing it's money around then. ;-)

I remember taking courses at Apple and the instructor told us that IBM had more employees flying in the airplanes at any one time than Apple did total number of employees

Perhaps. But this is only market cap, whereas MS has size in capitalization, market share and sheer physical bulk.

Any fall is more likely to be due to a lack of focus or circumstances beyond their control.
