Hey Guys...

I know this is somewhat mac somewhat software apps (or for that matter purely OS related that has nothing to do with mac, but i thought I'd ask you guys for advice)...

Im using VLC and I have a .avi file that has the .SRT (subtitle file) saperate. What I want to do is embed the .srt file into .avi, does anyone know how ?

There are two ways to have subtitles on an AVI -- hard-coded (burned into the movie file) or soft (aka selectable).

If you are using VLC and you wish to have subtitles selectable, you don't have to really do anything: load the movie file, choose "Subtitles Track" and choose the SRT file; watch the movie.

Making a DVD of this with soft/selectable subtitles is quite tricky; making it with hardcoded subtitles is easier. FFMPEGX is usually my tool of choice for this.
