My G3 has a 10T-Base Ethernet port rather than a 10/100T-Base Ethernet port - will this have major affects on download speeds/surf speeds on a hi-speed network? (just my computer hooked to a hi-speed internet; not hooked up to a network of other Macs). I realize this would in fact affect data transfers to others Macs through Ethernet, but internet as well?

Not all that much at all, as high speed internet hasn't progressed past being able to send data faster then 10 Mpbs and well it doesn't even reach it now a days. The 100 may make a small difference, as the info can travel faster on the wire, but it won't make too much of a difference to your web surfing. Besides, I've never seen any place where you can download even 1 megabyte per second.

Thanks, Chealion. That cleared it up.
