I'm looking for a hardcore computer case for my Al 15" PowerBook. I don't want pleather or pockets everywhere or copious amounts of velcro. I looking for something that is clean in appearance and capable of enduring abuse. So far I've really liked the Pelican cases (1490) and I've used their other cases before - they're brick s--t house tough. Does anyone have experience with Pelican computer cases or have any other suggestions...
Pelican have always been the first choice of professional photographers wanting the sturdiest travel gear. If the PB cases are made the same, I doubt there's anything better.
The Pelican cases are fantastic, I've used them for night vision and photographic equipment in really hostile environments (oceanic). Their laptop case is slim, water/dust proof, and just big enough to hold a 15" powerbook with about 3/4" -1" of room on each side (enough for shock protection, but not excessive). I think it's the way to go. I also like the aluminum cases, but generally, they're designed for camera gear and thus are quite deep.
i also have an incase backpack when i am running around town with it for short trips. very compact and comfortable which leaves my hands free for other things.
