Well, that Virginia Tech G5 cluster is online and cranking. The cluster is reported to be able to pump out 17.6 Terraflops, second only to Japan's Earth Simulator's massive 41 Terraflops and is considerably faster than the performance of the current number 3 1152-node dual 2.4 GHz Xeon MCR Linux cluster and its 11.2 Terraflops. And, the Xeon cluster has 104 more processors than the G5 cluster.

Wow.

I had one idiot that works in the same building as me say that if he had the same amount on money I spent he could build something that would be much faster than my G5. I told him "No you can't." Then I told him about Virgina Tech's G5 cluster. That shut him up.
I think I'll send him those links :D

I agree, but my point was that most PC people think of Macs as overpriced and slow and that they can buy or build a $700 PC that's just as fast, just as productive, just as reliable, yadda, yadda.
