FYI Enable AirDrop on (some) Macs without supported hardware
Found this on macosxhints. I've tested it on a first generation Alum iMac and MacBook, each running 10.7 and it seems to work.
So if all that's needed is a Terminal command to enable some/all of this function, why weren't these models included in Apple's list of supported devices? Beats me (I'm sure there's a good reason other than planned obsolescence ).
