Anyone has a bunch of FireWire 400 device but only a FireWire 800 port?

Well, I will be under this situation very soon, and looking for one of the following:
• FireWire 400 to 800 Adapter
• FireWire 400 to 800 Cable

any idea where I can get one of these in Toronto?

thanks

MonoPrice
Look for a 9 pin to 6 pin on the above page, buying on line should save you some money over buying from a retailer.
Monoprice is good, but American. To buy Canadian, try CableSalesCanada:
Browse Catalog

Look way down the page for Firewire 800 to 400 cables.
Unfortunately cables from both of these sites probably come over from China on the same ship. It is hard to find anything made in North America now a days.
So?

I got mine at Sonnam Computer (Spadina & College, Toronto) for quite a good price, and it's worked fine with my HVX200 to FCP.
Bought two from CDW Canada. They were around $30/each. I just opened one so if you need one let me know.

Just bought an adapter on ebay for $13 CDN. I can just continue to use all my old cables. Apple really throw one of these things in the box with new computers, as you will need one to migrate from another machine or a FW drive.

Good to know, thanks.

Thanks :) Would this work to connect my trusty ol' iSight to my new mini? A simple question, I'm sure but Firewire is strange business to me...
