Anyone out there have any experiences or opinions regarding some of the Expresscard options to add eSata capabilities to a MacBook Pro?

The Sonnet and Firmtek cards both work.. Be aware though, Apple's ExpressCard socket is prone to ejecting the card (whatever card) when you don't intend it -- even from a stray tug on the eSATA cable.

In the case of a hard drive, that's a bad thing to have happen, a disconnection while reading or writing. So you would really want to set the machine and drives up in a stable configuration, physically, to use it.
